KISER’S ORTHOTIC & PROSTHETIC SERVICES COVID-19 PROTOCOL MARCH 23,2020

Currently our office is open during our normal business hours Monday through Friday. We are following the CDC guidelines as well as guidelines issued from all federal, state and local governments. The safety of our patients and our staff is of the upmost importance.
Signage posted on our entryway door indicates no admittance to anyone experiencing any known COVID-19 symptoms or signs like cough, fever and shortness of breath. All scheduled appointments will be confirmed the day before asking the same health questions as well as any known contact with anyone diagnosed with the virus or has traveled to any part of the world with an outbreak. If a patient is sick with any contagious condition, we will cancel their appointment.

Because we are a small facility with only two practitioners, we are able to stagger the scheduling of our patients so that no two patients (and any family member) come into our office at the same time. Only one person (and their family member) will be allowed to stay in our waiting room at a time. Any patients arriving early or late will be seated in an empty exam room. When possible, we may ask that anyone traveling with a scheduled patient to wait in the car if there is any question of illness.
There is hand sanitizer outside the front office and waiting room accessible to anyone entering our building. The sinks in the exam rooms and restroom have soap, paper towels, tissues and trashcans available.

Once a patient has been treated and leaves our facility, the exam room, front office counter and door knobs will be wiped down with disinfectant. The front office staff and clinicians will make a note of anything touched by the patient and focus on cleaning and sanitizing these areas. All magazines have been removed from all the exam and waiting room. All children’s toys have also been removed. Patients are encouraged to bring their own reading material with them while they wait. We keep a cup of new, unused pens at the front desk for patients to use when required, and the used pen is placed in a different container that gets disinfected at the end of each day.

Social distancing will be enforced.
The clinicians, technician and front office staff will be adhering to the strictest protocol for hygiene and especially hand washing. Any out-of-office visits by the clinicians will be suspended during this outbreak except for inpatient hospital calls.
Our office will close for 14 days only if the virus is contracted by any staff member that may have come in contact with any co-workers. The phones will continue to be answered even if the office is closed.
